Dan Griffiths UK
Dan Griffiths is becoming increasingly known for his humorous
and provocative appropriation of billboard design. Subverting the unquestioned
authority of both the scale and the location of the billboard, he changes
the content to affect a reordering of information that subliminally instructs
our daily life. The commodification of dissent and the possibilities of
arts relationship to radical politics are themes that recur in his work.
He has been shown as part of the East End Academy at the Whitechapel and
as part of I.D.E.A. at the ICA in London.
